lit and knit
The minute i saw the spine of the book hidden in the shelf, i just had to have it. Here's a review of it

Lately, i've been buying and reading graphic novels...one in French too! The only media i don't quite get is film. Like experimental film. But i never really attempted it, and only few it occasionally. BUT, i found out one of my fellow knitters is none other than Guy Madden's (distant) neice! And yes, she does film here in Boston.

Holy crap. Long time no see.

I can help you get film, if you want. I also know some excellent graphic novels. Also, you should quit being responsible and hard working and come to Toronto to visit a poor lonely northern boy.

oh ouch...i guess when i was grumpy and miserble i should have been a wee bit social. See, i was on vacation, and long story short, got 're-routed' to Toroto. I spent Valentines with my sis and her hubby. And there are no plans for leaving this particular country for a while. Like till June. And that'll be a one-way trip.

The first and last bits are 'visual' but the middle section are a collection of emails that the author wrote during the bombing. It's crazy to hear a first hand account. I remember searching the new for info for my aunt who was there, thinking what could we find out that they could't learn first hand? The book brings whole new meaning to media and communication during a war. I just have to remember not to read it next to small children. It's not those kind of pictures..
